Maker: "MILLIKIN & LAWLEY 168 STRAND" stamped on the tangs of all three blades on the underside. The blades are: sheepfoot main blade, a combination saw/file/turnscrew, and pen blade. The underside contains a quadrangular reamer, borer, and corkscrew; the slide out tools are a gun pick and tweezer. The closed length is 3 ¾ inches (9.8cm), with stag horn scales and integral iron liners and bolsters. Flook's
"TLKB" entry for Millikin states that he was a
"Surgical Instrument Maker and Cutler" who operated from various London addresses and under a variety of names, the last being
"1860 - 1870 as MILLIKIN & LAWLEY, 161A STRAND. Does not appear after 1870 as a Cutler but continued as a surgical instrument maker into 1880".
